Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the United States as well as Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she was a producer of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her next assignment was reporter for sports at The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Then she moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The stories she wrote about covered immigration as well as drug trafficking and other issues on both the Texas as well as the Mexico border. Also, she was a Spanish reporter on the newscast of 5 p.m., an anchor and reporter for the newscast at nine p.m. on English and again a Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. In addition, she was frequently asked to serve as a weather and sports anchor. The family relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. Also, she has an older sibling. In 1992, the family settled in Miami following the move from Mexico to the US. The couple divorced soon after and, in 1995, she was married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. In the summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta is a senior in high school, yet she was clear about the career she was looking for. So while assessing if Mount Union would be a good fit for her Antonietta visited the university. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she was looking for. When she completed her high school education, she attended the university to study media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a member of her class, developed a lasting relationship with her. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for Journalism deeply touched her. In turn, she was determined to exceed his expectations always delivering on time.
